Look Book: Day Date

Been invited to a cheeky lunch date or an activity on the go? Well look no further than this quick and easy Day Date makeup tutorial.

For active ladies on the go, this is a quick and effective tutorial to achieve that fresh faced in love ‘glow’. By using products from our Mineral range, we are keeping this look natural and using one of our favourite lip products which is perfect for slipping into your bag for your weekend adventures.

The e.l.f. Products used to create this look:

Mineral Infused Primer- Clear

Mineral Blush- Joy

Mineral Foundation – Light

6pc.Eyeshadow Palette – Warm

Mineral Infused Mascara

Jumbo Lip gloss Stick – Pink Umbrella

Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil – Black Bandit

Under eye Concealer and Highlighter – Glow/Fair

Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

Eyebrow Treat and Tame – Medium

Step 1

Prime you face. This is important as we want this look to last through any exciting romantic activities you have planned. Apply a pea sized amount of product to to your face and blend using your fingertips.

Step 2

Using the Studio Mineral Powder Brush , start applying the Mineral Foundation. Dip the brush into the product and tap away any excess. Work from the centre of the face outwards, blending the foundation using circular buffering motions. This will create an air brushed effect on the skin.

Step 3

Apply the Under Eye Concealer under the eyes and blend out towards the temples. We also applied a dab of this concealer around the nose area. If you want a concealer that provides fuller coverage, the Mineral Concealer  and the Maximum Coverage Concealer are great alternatives. Remember to only put the concealer where needed not to overload the finished ‘natural’ look we are trying to create. Apply the highlighter to the tops of the cheek bones and blend towards your temples. This will create a radiant glow effect.

Step 4

For this eye look we have used shades 1, 5 and 6 from the 6 piece Eyeshadow Palette in Warm:

6 piece shadow

First prepare the eye area by dabbing the eyelid primer across the eye lid. Using the Blending Eye Brush, apply the lightest shade as the base colour all over the lid . Sweep the medium shade back and forth in the crease of the eye; this will create depth to the eye look. Using the darkest shade, extend the colour outward from the crease to create a slight winged effect. We are looking to create a sideways ‘V’ shape on the outer corner of the eye. This will give the illusion of making your eyes look bigger and create a natural smoky eye effect perfect for daytime.

Step 5

Line the upper lashline using the Shimmer Eyeliner to help the lashes appear fuller and thicker.

Step 6

Apply the Mineral Infused Mascara to both your top and bottom lashes. Concentrate the product at the base of the lashes not to weigh down at the tips. Move the wand from side to side whilst brushing through, this will help separate and extend creating great fluttery lashes.

Step 7

Comb the Eyebrow Treat and Tame through the brows as this will shape the eyebrows and guide the hairs for a smooth finish. This product also helps fill in any gaps left as a result of over generous plucking which, even though we hate to admit, we have all fallen culprit too at some point during our beauty regime!

Step 8

Apply the Mineral Blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend outwards along the cheek bone.

Step 9

The Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick is a great lip product for a date on the go. With the glossy sheen and easy glide on formula, this lippy can even be applied without a mirror! Apply this product like a balm and it will keep your lips nourished with a kissable pink shade.

Final Look:
