We love nothing more than coming up with an excuse to have a nose through someone’s makeup bag. And we could think of no better excuse than having a cosmetic bag Spring Clean!
It’s no secret that one of our favourite bloggers is Natalie from Discoveries of Self blog (we have total beauty envy), which is why she was top of our list for Spring Clean tips on revamping makeup collections.
We asked Natalie to pick the e.l.f. products she’ll be revamping with this Spring season and here’s what she had to say…
We all love Spring!
It comes with daffodils, blue skies and the promise of warmer weather. Spring also hails in the well-known Spring Clean, the time when we ditch the old and replace it with the brand spanking new and most times, improved.
One thing that I always make sure I Spring Clean is my makeup bag. Not only does it allow me to get rid of expired makeup (e.g. mascara and liner) it also allows me to replace the old with better and more suitable products.
Some of the items that I’ll be adding to my makeup bag this Spring from e.l.f. include:
Smudge Pot in Brownie Points – One of my new favourite products for the eye area. Brownie Points is a gorgeous golden deep caramel colour that works so well, giving me an effortless and subtle smokey eye with ease. No brushes needed, just use your fingers to apply it to the lid. For a more intense look, use a black kohl pencil near your lash line and smudge it out with Brownie Points.
Studio Matte Lip Colour in Praline – When you want an easy nude lip this is a go to! Perfect for everyday wear, moisturising and so easy to apply to the lips. Matte lipsticks tend to be very drying but the Studio Lip Pencil is moisturizing without overloading your lips with sheen, giving you longevity as well as soft lips. A great addition to your makeup bag.
Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Black – Love yourself some eyeliner? Well you’re gonna love this pen, rich in pigment and the fine pointed tip allows you to create a perfect flick in seconds. The waterproof formula also means this stays in place ALL DAY which is what I look for in an eyeliner. The slim line pen also fits neatly into my makeup bag! It’s a win all round!
Exact Lash Mascara – Perfect for giving your lower lashes special attention! I tend to only apply mascara to my top lashes and I forget the bottom but applying mascara to your bottom lashes can help you look more awake and bright eyed. The teeny wand from Exact Lash helps you to coat your lashes in mascara without those dreaded clumps making your lashes look noticeable but not overly dramatic.
Studio Blush Palette in Dark – I’d be more than happy to buy a bigger makeup bag to accommodate this gem! 4 extremely pigmented blushers that work so well against my skin tone, not to mention the endless possibilities if you were to mix the shades together. The palette provides you with 3 matte blushes perfect for everyday wear and one matte blush with a hint of shimmer for night wear. Easy to blend and buttery, just want I need from a blush!
Here’s the natural Spring-time look I created using these e.l.f. products…
What do you think of Natalie’s top picks for a Spring revamp? Would you choose any of them yourself? Or do you have different e.l.f. makeup you’d pick?
